Kansas City, Missouri Wine Flight in Ingrams!
Wine Flight is a unique event that offers the rare opportunity to experience wines entered in The Jefferson Cup Invitational, an established wine competition for American wines. The Jefferson Cup Invitational organizer Master Sommelier and Master of Wine Doug Frost generously donates hundreds of wines from the competition to Angel Flight Central for this event giving guests the unique exposure to the best wines from nearly all 50 States in one evening. Wine experts will be present to share insight into the different wines and offer ideas to maximize enjoyment of different selections.
Along with the seemingly endless selections of wines to taste, the evening will include gourmet foods for wine pairing, musical entertainment, dancing, an opportunity to purchase select Jefferson Cup winning wines, and an auction. This year, the Wine Flight auction will feature an original canvas donated by Jeffrey Owen Hanson, a 15 year-old artist from Overland Park, Kansas.
Jeffrey (photo) has neurofibromatosis with an optic tumor (he nicknamed "Clod") that has threatened to rob him of his sight. However, chemotherapy and radiation have stabilized Jeffrey's vision. His art has caught the attention of Sir Elton John, Movie Director Harold Ramis, HGTV's Design Star Jennifer Bertrand and hundreds of art collectors. Jeffrey has released a glossy 2009 calendar called "Generous HeART", which honors Angel Flight Central in the month of July.
