How Do I Start A WING?
st Gather a group of five volunteers interested in forming a local Angel Flight group. Talk to your friends, local pilots, people you know involved in aviation or social work or healthcare, a former Angel Flight passenger in your area . . . anyone who believes in the mission and wants to help spread the word. The staff can even help you organize an informational meeting or event in your area to recruit leadership and outreach volunteers.
ndVisit with the Angel Flight Central staff (Outreach Director and Executive Director) and submit a request to the Board of Trustees to become an official bonafide active AFC WING.
rd Celebrate your approval from the Board–get together, have a party, plan all of the fun and exciting things your group is going to do in its first several months. Our Outreach Director, Brendan Sneegas ,is available for support and guidance.
th Announce the formation of your new WING by distributing press releases to media contacts within your WING's agreed upon geographic area (staff will help you with this).
th GET YOUR WING IN MOTION! The Wing Handbook outlines possible, proven and effective roles and activities your group can do to become a successful WING.
